Fortifications of the Great Siege

This 40-minute video documentary, produced by www.militaryarchitecture.com on the occasion of the 450 anniversary of the Great Siege, takes a look at the fortications of the Hospitaller Knights of St. John in 1565.

The feature, written and produced by Dr Stephen C Spiteri, makes use of 3D computer graphic simulations to recreate the Knights' bastioned fortifications of Birgu, Senglea, Mdina, Gozo, Fort St Elmo and Fort St Angelo as these would have stood at the time of the Great Siege. The video also looks at those elements of the original defences which can still be seen and experienced today.
